10 years ago at MRS Fall 2013 NANOSENSORS introduced the first types of the Uniqprobe – uniform quality SPM probes series.
During these 10 years the AFM probes of the uniqprobe series have become very popular among our users who appreciate the small variation of AFM cantilever force constant and resonance frequency.
The partial coating of the uniqprobes designed for liquid environments has the advantage of preserving the mechanical properties of the AFM cantilevers while maintaining high optical reflection. Further benefits of the uniqprobe coating are stress-free AFM cantilevers with considerably less bending and reduced drift particularly for measurements in liquid environments.
These properties make the AFM probes of the uniqprobe series especially suited for molecular biology, biophysics and quantitative nano-mechanical studies.
Originally designed as soft, drift-reduced AFM cantilevers for Biology and Life Sciences there are meanwhile seven different types of uniqprobes available.
qp-CONT (typical values : C=0.1 N/m ; fo=30 kHz)
qp-SCONT (typical values : 0.01 N/m ; fo=11 kHz)
qp-BioT (2 cantilevers on one bodychip, typical values: C1=0.3 N/m; fo1=50 kHz, C2=0.08 N/m; fo2=20 kHz)
qp-BioAC (3 cantilevers on one bodychip, typical values: C1=0.3 N/m; f01=90kHz; C2=0.1 N/m; f02=50 kHz; C3=0.06 N7m, fo3=30 kHz)
qp-BioAC-CI (3 cantilevers on one bodychip, typical values: C1=0.3 N(m; f01=90kHz; C2=0.1 N/m; f02=50 kHz; C3=0.06 N7m, fo3=30 kHz) a version of uniqprobe™ BioAC with Rounded Tips for Cell Imaging
qp-fast (3 cantilevers on one bodychip, typical values: C1=80N/m; fo1=800 kHz; C2=30N/m;fo2=420 kHz; three different uniqprobe™ cantilevers on one support chip for Soft- , Standard- , Fast Tapping/Dynamic AFM Imaging
qp-HBC (typical values: C=0.5 N/m; fo=60 kHz) The uniqprobe™ – HeartBeatCantilever that can also be used for ScanAsyst* and Peak Force Tapping* in Air.
You can find out more in the NANOSENSORS uniqprobe brochure .
Three different tipless versions of the uniqprobe ( SD-qp-BioT-TL, SD-qp-CONT-TL and SD-qp-SCONT-TL ) are available from the NANOSENSORS Special Developments List where you can also find two types of uniqprobe tipless cantilever arrays.
These types are designed for users who for example want to glue spheres on these AFM cantilevers in order to make their own “unique colloidal AFM probes” for their nanomechanical studies or who want to use these tipless Uniqprobes to detect the nanomotion of various cell types.
